Top 10 Football Misses

Credit; here

So far in the video blog entries, we have seen the top 10 goals from the UK's top flight so far this season, a top 10 saves compilation and also a funny moments entry.

Now, is the turn of the awful misses and here is a top 10 barely 48 hours before Christmas.

Here's a teaser of what's to come.

The first on the list comes from Marouane Chamakh in Arsenal's away tie with Everton, where this miss didn't cost Arsene Wenger's side three points en route to a 2-1 victory.

It would be wrong to leave out the English League's outside of the top flight and Shefki Kuqi's career has demised rapidly since his spell with Blackburn Rovers. He is now on loan with Derby County after misses like this left him unwanted at Swansea City.

It can happen to anyone, however, and this miss from Portuguese goal-machine Cristiano Ronaldo in his Manchester United days shows that he is human after all.

It's not always your fault when you miss from half a yard, especially if Kei Kamara of the Kansas City Wizards does this from a closer distance against LA Galaxy.

On the other hand, sometimes there are no excuses for not converting and Illija Sivonjic of Dinamo Zagreb has nowhere to hide.

There are certain ways not to start your international career and there is a reason why Chris Iwelumo has never scored for Scotland in 4 appearances. Maybe he needs a different pair of boots.

This next miss is similar to Iwelumo's, but the stakes are higher.

Had Yakubu scored this in Nigeria's final group game with South Korea, they would have made it through to face Uruguay at the Asian sides expense, but he missed to guarantee an early exit.

Manchester City's reputation for signing good players has improved since Brazilian forward Robinho moved to Santos on loan and, with misses like this, he'll never find his way in the Premier League again.

This next moment comes from another Portuguese striker, Rui Miguel, for CSKA Sofia in July of this year.

The Bulgarian side made it through in the UEFA Europa League 3rd qualifying round tie against Cliftonville FC, despite this shocker.

Surely they don't come much worse than this, and my number one, from Khalfan in the 2010 Asian Games, where Uzbekistan were playing Qatar in the Quarter finals.
